Nedlands Soccer Club was founded by a handful of enthusiasts in 1996, and in only eleven season has grown to be one of the 20 largest clubs in Western Australia (out of 132 clubs in 2006), and is still growing quickly!
2006 was a record season for Nedlands FC as for the first time we fielded teams that catered for all ages and players (both boys/men and girls/women) from age 6 to seniors. In 2006 we fielded 29 representative sides with nearly 400 players representing the Club each week. Our representation will be extended again in 2007 when we offer training to 4 and 5 year olds and we intend to field a men’s masters team for the first time in 2007. 2006 also saw the introduction of a number of initiatives in support of the Club's future vision including a change of the Club name to Nedlands Football Club (Nedlands FC), an overhaul of our website, the inaugural Quiz night and Club supper and the new gold and green strip in recognition of the Socceroos' achievements in qualifying for the Football World Cup held in Germany in 2006. Thank you for all the hard work from our Committee, coaches, managers, players and parents for making 2006 such a success. |
